How MIRROR works

Triggers, safeguards, custody and data, exactly what MIRROR does and doesn't do.

Overview

MIRROR pairs a Solana memecoin with a real world reference asset, a stock, cryptocurrency, commodity or index. The creator defines conditions on that asset's real market price; when they're met, MIRROR queues a buyback of the memecoin funded by SOL the creator has authorized, which the creator approves and signs.

MIRROR is not a price peg. Pairing a token with Tesla does not make it track Tesla's price and gives holders no ownership of, or claim on, Tesla. It is transparent asset tracking plus conditional, owner approved buyback activity.

MIRROR deploys no custom Solana programs. It uses standard SPL Token accounts, existing deployed protocols (Jupiter for swaps) and wallet signed transactions.

How triggers work

  • Asset rises / falls by %: percent change over a trailing window (1h, 24h or 7d), computed from real price history.
  • Price crosses above / below: compares the latest reference price with your USD threshold.
  • Each coin is evaluated on its own interval (5 to 1440 minutes). An evaluation runs at most once per interval bucket, duplicates are rejected by a database uniqueness constraint.
  • When a condition is met and every safeguard passes, a pending buyback is created with an amount of min(max per buyback, remaining period cap, remaining budget).
  • Pending buybacks expire after 24 hours if not approved.
  • You can run an on demand evaluation from the dashboard (“Evaluate now”); it respects the same safeguards and dedupe window.

Safeguards

  • Maximum SOL per buyback.
  • Spend cap per rolling day or week.
  • Total authorized budget across all time.
  • Cooldown between buybacks.
  • Slippage limit passed to the swap quote.
  • Maximum price impact: the swap is blocked when liquidity is too thin.
  • Stale price rejection: no evaluation or execution on stale or unavailable data.
  • Duplicate prevention: one evaluation per coin per interval, one buyback per evaluation, unique transaction signatures.
  • Per coin emergency stop and a global operator kill switch (BUYBACKS_DISABLED).
  • All safeguards are rechecked at execution time, not only at trigger time.

Execution model

Execution is explicitly labeled manual (owner approved). Fully automated execution would require MIRROR to hold a signing key for your funds, which it will not do.

  • 1. The server evaluates triggers and records pending buybacks. Evaluations run on the server, never in a browser; site activity kicks them off at most once a minute, and a daily scheduled job runs them even when nobody is on the site.
  • 2. You click Review & execute. The server rechecks freshness, caps and balance, fetches a Jupiter quote (SOL → your token) and builds an unsigned transaction with your wallet as fee payer.
  • 3. Your wallet shows the transaction; you sign it.
  • 4. The server broadcasts the signed transaction to the Solana mainnet RPC.
  • 5. The server reads the confirmed transaction from chain and records the signature, SOL spent and tokens received.

Jupiter only routes on mainnet, so execution is mainnet only. Schedulers: activity on the site (database locked to once a minute), a daily Vercel cron, POST /api/cron/evaluate with a CRON_SECRET bearer token for any external scheduler, the in process scheduler in development, or the standalone npm run worker. Each coin is still evaluated no more often than its own check interval.

Creator rewards

Pump.fun creator fees accrue to the creator's wallet and are claimed on pump.fun by the creator. MIRROR cannot access, claim or redirect them, and never assumes rewards from arbitrary coins are available.

The authorized budget in your settings is the amount of SOL, typically from claimed creator rewards, you commit to buybacks. Funds stay in your wallet until you sign each buyback.

Data sources & freshness

  • Stocks, indexes and futures: Yahoo Finance public chart data. Stock data may be delayed up to 15 minutes; futures ~10 minutes.
  • Crypto: CoinGecko.
  • Commodities are tracked through front month futures (e.g. COMEX gold GC=F); indexes are index levels, not investable products.
  • Token prices, market cap and volume: DexScreener. Token price history: GeckoTerminal. Holders and transactions: Solana RPC.
  • Freshness labels: Live, Delayed, Market closed (last close shown), Stale (no update for 30 min while open, or 15 min for crypto) and Unavailable.
  • Prices are cached server side for about a minute. MIRROR never invents prices: on provider failure the value is shown as unavailable.

Networks

MIRROR runs on Solana mainnet only. Every registration, evaluation and buyback uses real tokens and real funds, so review every transaction before you sign it.

Security

  • MIRROR never asks for, stores or transmits seed phrases or private keys.
  • Sign in is a free message signature with a single use nonce, verified server side; sessions are httpOnly signed cookies.
  • Only the wallet that registered a coin can change its settings or act on its buybacks.
  • Registration requires onchain proof of creatorship: mint authority, metadata update authority, or payer of the mint's creation transaction.
  • The server verifies the fee payer of every swap transaction is the coin owner before and after signing.
  • All APIs validate input and are rate limited. Secrets live only in server environment variables.

Limitations

  • Token launches use PumpPortal, a public third party API, to build the pump.fun create transaction. MIRROR checks every transaction before you sign it and only allows the official pump.fun program. Launches include no dev buy.
  • No fully automated execution: every buyback requires the owner's signature.
  • Swap execution is mainnet only (Jupiter).
  • Total holder counts require an indexer; MIRROR shows the top 20 holders from RPC.
  • Yahoo Finance is an unofficial public endpoint; production deployments should consider a licensed market data provider.
  • Tokens with very long histories may not be verifiable via the creation transaction method on public RPC.
  • Compatibility with mainnet does not mean any protocol has been audited by MIRROR.

FAQ

Will my coin go up when Tesla goes up?

Not necessarily. MIRROR may queue buybacks you approve when your conditions are met, but buybacks never guarantee price appreciation and there is no peg.

Can MIRROR spend my SOL without me?

No. Every buyback is a transaction you sign in your own wallet.

Can someone else register my coin?

Only a wallet that can prove creatorship onchain can register a token, and each token can be registered only once.

What does MIRROR charge?

Nothing. You pay Solana network fees and any route fees on executed swaps.

What happens if prices are stale?

Evaluations are skipped and execution is blocked until fresh data returns.
